Yes indeed, Sony will unveil its pink PS2 this week at the Leipzig Games Convention to be released across Europe on 8 November.

In answer to the question we know you’re all asking on sight of this, Sony has decided to make a pink PlayStation 2 because it is considered “funky, fresh, and fashionable”. It’s also very, very pink and will come bundled with SingStar Pop on its release on 8 November. The 'Pink PlayStation 2 Value Pack' will retail at £129.99. In addition to SingStar Pop, you also get two pink DUALSHOCK controllers and a pink 8MB memory card. Not bad at all, yet still conclusively pink.

We applaud Sony’s marketing team for avoiding the simple statement that this is a PS2 made specifically for young girls. However there is also potential for that special symbiotic relationship between collectors and eBay entrepreneurs as Pink PS2 is strictly limited edition and only available through selected retailers. Which means, yes, you’re gonna have to visit several shops and personally ask if they’re getting them!
